Cleaning and looking after your gorgeous Costume jewellery

Protect your jewellery from being scratched - don't wear it to play sport or do the gardening!

Keep jewellery away from chemicals, extreme hot and cold - don't do the cleaning or go swimming in it.

Store jewellery in a soft lined box and keep pieces apart, preventing tangling & loosening of stones.

Those beautiful crystals don't like beauty products, perfume, hairspray or nail varnish remover.

When washing your hands with a bar of soap, take your rings off as it gets stuck around stones.

To clean, we suggest a rub with a soft cloth or a special silver cleaning cloth available at most supermarkets

Or, if it needs a bit more of a nudge then:

Over a sink with the plug in, just in case you drop it.
A toothbrush (I use an electric toothbrush for mine)
A tiny spot of washing up liquid, diluted with water (I do this in a small pot).
Rub very gently over outside, inside and sides.
Clean brush with clean water.
Repeat the process on all sides which should clear any residue of soap.
Give it a quick dunk under running water, still with the plug in
Lay out on kitchen paper or tissue in a warm place to dry
Give a buff with a clean soft cloth.
Should be all sparkly again.

Remember that some of the more delicate Costume jewellery is not meant for constant, robust wear, depending upon its design - be gentle with it!
